Cancellation and Refund Policy

Effective 25 October 2026.

This policy applies to bookings for professional training supplied by RYT Training Solutions. It should be read with the Course Booking Terms and the course description.

1. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a course service has a major problem, or a problem is not fixed within a reasonable time where required, you may be entitled to cancel and receive a refund for the unconsumed part of the service and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss.

2. How to cancel or request a transfer

Email enquiries@ryttrainingsolutions.com.au with the purchaser’s name, attendee name, course and booking or invoice reference. The effective cancellation date is when we receive the request. We will confirm receipt in writing.

3. Change-of-mind cancellation thresholds

The following thresholds balance participant flexibility with the genuine cost of reserving a limited course place:

  • 15 or more business days before the course: choose a full refund of course fees paid or one transfer to another available date.
  • 6 to 14 business days before the course: choose one transfer to another available date, or a refund less a cancellation charge of up to 25% of the course fee.
  • 5 or fewer business days before the course, or non-attendance: a substitute attendee may be nominated where practical. If the booking is cancelled, the cancellation charge may be up to 75% of the course fee.

Any cancellation charge will be limited to RYT’s reasonable administration costs and reasonably incurred or unavoidable loss. We will take reasonable steps to reduce loss, including considering whether the place can be filled. If we rebook the place, the charge will be reduced accordingly. It will never exceed the stated cap or the amount paid.

A transfer is subject to availability and is normally limited to one transfer per booking. If the transferred booking is later cancelled, the cancellation date for the original course may be used to prevent repeated transfers from avoiding a fair cancellation charge.

4. Substitutions

You may nominate a substitute attendee before the course starts at no additional course fee, provided they meet any prerequisites and there is enough time to complete required administration. Reasonable additional costs, if any, will be disclosed for approval before being charged.

5. Illness and exceptional circumstances

Please contact us as soon as possible if illness, injury, bereavement, emergency or another serious circumstance prevents attendance. We will consider a transfer, credit or refund fairly and case by case. We may ask for reasonable supporting information where necessary, while respecting privacy.

6. Cancellation or material change by RYT

If RYT cancels a course, you may choose a full refund of course fees paid or transfer to an available alternative. If we make a material change to the date, location, delivery mode or essential content and the change makes attendance unsuitable, we will discuss a reasonable transfer, credit or refund.

We will give as much notice as reasonably practicable. We recommend flexible travel and accommodation arrangements. Nothing in this policy limits any right to recover reasonably foreseeable loss where required by law.

7. Minimum numbers, trainer illness and events outside control

A course may need to be rescheduled or cancelled because minimum numbers are not met, a trainer is unavailable, a venue becomes unusable, or an event outside reasonable control occurs. We will offer the remedies in section 6 and will not retain course fees for a course we do not supply.

8. Refund method and timing

Approved refunds will be made to the original payment method unless another method is agreed. We aim to initiate refunds within 10 business days after approval. Banks and payment providers may take additional time to process the refund.

9. Third-party and employer bookings

Where an employer, agency or other organisation paid for the booking, any refund is normally paid to that purchaser. A participant should contact the booking organisation about any separate reimbursement arrangement.

10. Questions or complaints

Contact enquiries@ryttrainingsolutions.com.au. We will try to resolve concerns promptly and fairly.
